Worldspan uses the Low Fare Finder Program to verify the lowest available fare for an itinerary. This function provides a method of checking an itinerary in the lowest applicable fare based on booking class availability. The following guidelines apply with Low Fare Finder (4PLF):
(1)A 4PLF entry checks only Worldspan availability for Worldspan Direct Access, Worldspan Direct Sell, and non-participating airlines.
(2)A 4PLF entry on an Worldspan Airline Source® participant checks the airline's availability.
The Low Fare Finder itinerary pricing and fare quote program offers the following options:
4PLF - Displays the lowest fare available based on the booking class and are rules using Worldspan availability (no rebook).
4PLFB - Displays and rebooks the lowest fare available based on booking class and fare rules using Worldspan's availability.
4PLFQ - Displays the lowest fare without regard to the booking class using Worldspan schedules (quote only - space may not be available). --------------------------------------- Guidelines:
Applicable to airline availability only.
Low Fare Finder can be used on a newly created itinerary or a displayed PNR.
When using Low Fare Finder, book the itinerary in coach (Y) class for best results.
The 4PLF and 4PLFB entries search for the lowest fare for the compartment booked, therefore if booked in first class, coach department is not searched.
The 4PLFQ entry searches for the lowest fare regardless of booking compartment.
The 4PLF entry assumes the PNR is booked today and is ticketed today.
A 4PLF entry prices a maximum of 16 itinerary segments, four PTCs and nine fare break points.
Low Fare Finder can be used to price a PNR with open segments.
Low Fare Finder cannot be used for C/ name fields (Group PNRs).
Low Fare Finder does not check for stopovers.
The ticketing date option can be used to look at pastorate fares stored in Worldspan (e.g., 4FATLLAX30JUN0216MAY01NXL-DL) and to see if the fare still exists on a future date (e.g., 4PLFT21MAY). Worldspan still returns the correct ticketing date and the fare can not be stored with this entry.
You must ER (End and Retrieve) to save the class of service change.
Because 4PLF entries assume today's ticketing date, 4P should be entered prior to ending transaction to verify what fare applies when the ticket is issued.
